Community

Welcome to Prospect School's Community Page! Here you will find news and information about what is happening in our local community.

Maywood Crescent reserve Neighbourhood Orchard and Garden

Vegetable gardens and fruit trees have been identified by local neighbours in consultation findings conducted earlier this year. Since then we have facilitated two community meetings and now we are looking for locals from the Maywood Crescent neighbourhood and surrounding street areas, who would be interested in joining a local gardening group of vegetables and fruit. For details see the poster in the Media Gallery.

Local Park Consultation

Earlier this year you gave feedback about how you wanted our local parks to look.  Come along to the meeting and find out what will be happening! Details are in the poster in the media gallery.

The Hub

If you wish to use our community room, The Hub (the old dental clinic) as a place for your group to meet free of charge, please contact us via the contact form on this page.

Breakaway Holiday Programme

If you wish to sign your tamariki up for this programme, please contact them directly or you can get registration forms at school.

Park 2 Park

Check out the attached calendar for daily activities taking place across Glen Eden and Henderson parks.

Hippy Programme

Get involved in the HIPPY programme! This programme is to support parents of children who are between the ages of three and a half and four and a half. Details are in the brochure which you can find in the media gallery.

Local Park Consultation

Community Waitakere are holding public consultation meetings about the parks in your area. Come along to one of the consultation meetings listed below!

In 2017 Community Waitakere and Sport Waitakere co-hosted a Whanau Day in your neighbourhood starting at Prospect School and finishing at Sunvue Park with games, give a ways, prizes, entertainment and a free sausage sizzle.

You all turned out to enjoy the various parks in your neighbourhood, meeting your neighbours, family and community organisations.

Questions were asked of you, what is important to you in your neighbourhood? If you had a wish for your local community/neighbourhood what would that be? What is needed in your neighbourhood? The feedback was huge with comments from young people, parents and grandparents.

Community Waitakere in support of Glen Eden Community House have illustrated some of that feedback.

Please understand that the graphics are in no way what is going to be installed but an illustration of what could be possible. Furthermore there is zero budget from local board/government/council.

We are asking if what is illustrated is what you want for your local parks and if yes how would you contribute to making it happen, or would you rather have something else? What would that be?

Thank you for your participation, you are a valued community!
