Term 4
2011
Dear Parents/Caregivers,
Syndicate 3 hopes everyone had a great
holiday and are fit and healthy and ready for an exciting Term 4.
In week 3 we will be going on a very
valuable train and ferry trip to Devonport. We will be learning about the
different forms of transport and how vehicles move as part of our Science
topic.
In Social Sciences we will be
learning about different cultural celebrations, including playing and
listening to music related to these celebrations. You may be able to help.
If so please contact your child's teacher. We will be writing letters and
invitations for Written Language and would like to remind you of the
value of listening to your child read every day. Please do sign the Reading
Log so your child gets the recognition that helps them with their learning.
In Maths we will continue to build
number knowledge, especially being able to recall basic addition and
subtraction facts.
The Year 0/1 students will continue to
develop their skills in the PMP programme. Please let your teacher
know if you can help supervise a small group once or twice a week. Also,
please include a change of clothes in their school bag for accidents.
The school athletics day is in
week 4 and everyone will be practising the skills needed to compete. Please
come along and support your children. Check the school bag for newsletters
about these events.
We ask that your children are at school
by ten to nine every day so they have a chance to put their belongings away
and settle before the bell goes at 8.55am - and they need to bring their
book bag to school every day.
Thanking You,
Junior School Teachers
